September Greetings from Us

Hello Everyone! Here are the September greetings from Us. By “Us,” I mean Julie, Mary and myself. I thought you would like to see what we created last month during our meeting. Mary also brought some retired, red rubber on blocks, Stampin’ Up! sets that she acquired from someone whose was selling. I tried to resist, but Mary was insisting that I take some home, because she didn’t want to take the whole lot back to her house. So I caved. Look for some nostalgic creations in the near future, since we were challenged to share this month, when we meet again.

Julie Hosted Us in September

Three of us demonstrators host every third month. And when we are “host,” we create two projects for our Twelve Tuesdays group. Julie always has fun projects for us. In September, we made a birthday card and Fall-themed sympathy card. To make the birthday card, we used the Brushed with Beauty DSP and the Beautifully Celebrated bundle in a unique way to create a “lock and key” type of fun fold. Awesome idea, Julie!

The second card Jule prep’d for us was a Fall sympathy card. To make this card, she combined several products. This is one of the things I like about Stampin’ Up! products – many items coordinate so well together. Here Julie combined the Softly Woven embossing folder, Tile Garden dies, Elegant Leaves bundle and Framed & Fabulous stamp set. Well done!

Mary’s September Card

We can’t get enough of those Sweet Bugs! Mary brought us a fun fold card using parts of the Sweet Bugs suite. This card does not lack of paper! She put a lot of work into having many of the pieces ready to color and assemble. I don’t know if you see that we used a white gel pen to mimic the white dust on top of the mushrooms in the middle section. The idea is to match the DSP in the suite.

I chose a couple bugs to take home and color, then finish assembly in my own craft area. Then I decided to add the punched heart of gold, a flower and a leftover butterfly from the Cutest Crew bundle I featured in May. I only used one of those butterflies, because I didn’t have any extra ones pre-cut in my bug bundle. Oh, what fun! Thank you, Mary!

September Greetings from Lori

In August, some of the TwelveTuesdays group asked if I had the August Product of the Month. At that time, I was not interested in getting it. I was waiting for payday to place my August order. So when I placed my order, I decided to add the Glow of Harvest DSP, along with the Painted Patch suite. While I immediately prepared a card for the group with this suite, I wanted to save it for October. Look for it in a future post. . .

But I still needed a project for September. I had every intention to cut and share the Glow of Harvest DSP with anyone who wanted some of this DSP when I bought it. Because I was doing this, I also thought it would be a good idea to actually make a card with it. I still hadn’t demonstrated the Textured Tree Ring 3D embossing folder yet. If I could combine the two somehow, that would be great.

So I experimented and came up with this card. We use a stamp from the Sharing Loving Crafting set. While I’ve had this for a time, I don’t believe I brought it to the group to use yet. This also gave me a reason to use some Sunset Shimmer Vellum. It works beautifully with this DSP! And for embellishments, we added crafter’s choice of some Painted Patch adhesive-backed dots. I felt any color dots look nice with the papers.

My hope is that we inspired you with our September Greetings from Us. Thanks for your visit! Happy crafting, until next time!
