Welcome Spring! And welcome the Sweet Springtime Easter cards from the February 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit. Also, check out some alternate ideas to create more cards!
Sweet Springtime Cards from One Treat Box
To begin, I decided that I would not need to make all three treat boxes in the kit, so I began by cutting one of them up. My goal was to create baby and Easter cards with the pieces. The way I cut the box made six cards. By opening up the box and placing it in my Paper Trimmer, I followed all the “major” score lines and cut through them to make the parts shown.
Once the box was cut apart, I chose which pieces would be used for which cards. Then I stamped the images, I needed, on the white parts. And I also stamped on the smallest Petal Pink piece to became a sentiment.
Next, I fussy cut all the images stamped on the white pieces. I also colored them with my Stampin’ Blends. It’s easy to know which colors to use because the color scheme, used in the kit, are listed on the instruction page.

- Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends, 154882
- Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends, 154885
- Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends, 154883
The only problem is that I need some extra cardstock to transform the pieces into cards.
Sweet One Sheet Wonder Cards
A one-sheet wonder to the rescue! Actually, this is not how it was originally intended, but it sort of turned out that way. Typically, a one-sheet wonder uses one sheet of DSP to create multiple cards, but I used one sheet of Basic White 12″ x 12″ cardstock and cut it in a way to make bases for four 3″ x 3″ and two 3″ x 5-1/2″ cards. After that, I had a 1/2″ x 12″ strip left over to create some extra sentiment labels.
Here’s a better view of the four 3″ x 3″ cards. I began by cutting the 12″ x 12″ sheet of cardstock in half (6″ x 12″) and scored down the long way at 3″, then cut it into four 3″ x 6″ card bases. After that I added some pieces from the treat box, and Viola! Two sweet springtime baby cards and two sweet springtime Easter cards are ready for giving. These cards fit into the Basic White 3″ x 3″ Envelopes.
The last two cards created from the treat box pieces each needed a piece of 6″ x 5-1/2″ cardstock, scored at 3.” In order to embellish, I added the Cross of Hope cross leftover from another project, to the green card. The pink pieces were a little harder to find the right layout, though. I finally found it. Because the larger pink gingham piece had a lot of score lines, the only way I could disguise them was to use my Elegant Eucalyptus 3D embossing folder on it. Both of these cards fit inside A2 envelopes. And I love how these two sweet Springtime Easter cards turned out!!
More Springtime Alternate Ideas
I really wanted to try to create the alternate ideas from the back of the instruction sheet, so I also cut up two card bases and two envelopes. The little baby card came together from one cut up envelope and an extra bunny/chick cut out. The Welcome Baby sentiment and the lilies on the Garden Green card were die cut from The Love of Spring Dies. The green Springtime Greetings card, on the top, is made from all die cut pieces. Both green cards incorporated the Everyday Details dies. And I couldn’t keep from creating a bunny shaker card with Loose Daisy Embellishments.
