Hello, Crafting Friends! Today I’m sharing a few more Meaningful Flower greetings with you. Besides the cards that the August Paper Pumpkin kit instructions directed us to make, I created some other ones to share with you, too.
Forget-Me-Not and Lotus Flower Greetings
The insides of the card envelopes, included with the kit, were very beautiful this time. So much so that, again, I cut some apart and used the pieces on the fronts of my cards. And this isn’t the first time, either. And here are two cards created from the envelope insides, which make the colorful backgrounds. One card even utilizes the paper as the main image!
Two Twelve Tuesday Tips:
- A simple way to give your cardstock some interest can be accomplished by rubbing your scissor blade along the edge of the paper to rough it up. You can see how this creates a nice affect on the white cardstock that surrounds the forget-me-nots.
- Take a look at the lotus card and how I trimmed the envelope. In order to give your background paper the same arc on both sides, simply hold the straight edge of the envelope piece up to the envelope’s flap and trim with a scissors. This causes a mirror image, if you will, on the two sides of paper.
My next two cards also utilize the envelope pieces, but from the fronts of the envelopes this time. Although, the border of forget-me-not flowers was actually printed on the inside of one of the envelopes. The small bouquet of forget-me-nots came from the envelope front. And notice how the small lotus flower image from the envelope, also doubles as a sentiment on the other card.
You can also see I enjoyed stamping lotus flower and lily pad images on a piece of the Orchid Oasis card base that I cut up. Which makes for a beautiful subtile background. Don’t you think so?
More Meaningful Flowers for You
Finally, my last two cards feature the flower stamps included in the kit. This Paper Pumpkin kit was special in the fact that it contained TWO stamp sets, and not the usual one set. As a result, this allows us to make our own flowers after all the pieces in the kit are used up.
I stamped the forget-me-not flowers three times, but colored the middle bouquet to create a focal point.
And, in order to make the lotus flower card, I stamped the larger lotus flower and two lily pads in colored ink, then fussy cut them. I attached the lily pads to the flower with diminsionals and adhered the cluster to the envelope background.
None of the cards shared today require a lot of supplies. I used white cardstock for these cards, but I took the liberty to use various inks, Stampin’ Blends, and embellishments to give them my own flare. I hope you find an idea or two to try for yourself!

More Greetings With Love & Gratitude
As always, while we enjoy our current kit, we know another one will be on the way soon. So, take a peek at what we know about this month’s kit. I look forward to crafting more gifts and greetings with a fall pumpkin holiday theme in September!
Home for the Holidays
October promises to bring a kit for creating Christmas cards. (By the way, the November kit is also supposed to coordinate with October’s kit). I’m anticipating that this kit will hold enough supplies to make 8 cards of 2 designs, AND includes a bottle of glitter glue! The banner gives some clues to the colors and cut outs we’ll find inside this box.
