As I anticipated receiving the June Paper Pumpkin kit, I wondered what kind of cards projects it would hold. Because I really liked the Countryside Inn Designer Series Papers and the Countryside Corners bundle, I felt I would try to incorporate them into any alternate projects I could possibly make. Since my mom and I only made one set of cards each, there were leftover pieces. And because she liked the card bases too, I cut them in half so we could share them. And as a result, I present to you Welcome Inn alternate ideas from my kit.
Welcome Inn Notecards
Just like the card bases that were in the May kit, these card bases had a continuous design on the front and back of each that resembled the DSP found in the annual catalog. Naturally, I wanted to cut and use the backs of three card bases to make alternate cards. And, because I really wanted to make them stretch, I dug out my Countryside Corners dies to cut octagons from them. Then after that, I took the liberty of cutting the die cut pieces, from the kit, and the octagons in half, as well. I hope you can see how I used the these pieces for the notecards I created.

Now I had enough background pieces, but I didn’t have enough of the tall narrow vases. So to remedy this, I punched two bottles using the Vintage Bottle punch. One bottle I decorated with flowers and leaves using the add-on dies (no longer available) for the Welcome Inn kit. Another one I decorated by coloring a stamp image with Stampin’ Write markers, then stamped onto a piece of white cardstock, and punched the bottle. In order to make the third bottle, I stamped behind the “hole” I left after I punched the first bottle. You can also see other pieces of the card bases didn’t go to waste. I love how the collage effect turned out, as a result, by mixing the different papers on these cards!
More Welcome Inn Alternate Ideas
But more ideas kept me creating more cards. In order to create these next cards, I brought out my Country Inn DSP and other stamp sets. This first card is inspired by an alternative idea inside the kit.

The next couple of ideas use the DSP, as card bases, and other stamp sets from my stash. I created one birthday and one all occasion card.

Now, take a peek at the inside these cards. The “Hello foxy” is a Z-fold card, and the “Thinking of you” card is a standard fold. But I love being able to see both sides of this pretty designer series paper!

Ideas for Leftover Welcome Inn Pieces!
But still, after making the cards above, I had enough bits and pieces leftover to create two more cards. The full-size card is just another “thinking of you,” which can be given for different occasions. and the 3″ x 3″ card is a baby card.
