Flowers In the Park

I’m in the mood for Spring. And what better way to dream about it until it’s here, then with flowers in the park. So, our Tuesday stamp club created a card using flowers from the Petal Park bundle and Wildflower Path stamp set. I’m so waiting for the weather to warm up to take walks outside, and occasionally, in the park.

Punch Some Flowers

Let’s make this card! To begin, we need to prepare the paper pieces. We used some Sale-a-bration DSP, but you can easily substitute what you have. This is basically how we did it:

  1. First, cut a card base from Thick Basic White cardstock that measures 4-1/4″ x 11″ and score at 5-1/2″, then fold in half.
  2. Secondly, cut a piece of DSP measuring 4″ x 6″, but before adhering this piece to the front of the card base, trim off a 3/4″ x 4″ strip from one end. Turn the strip over to reveal the opposite side and adhere it to the upper half of the DSP and attach to the card front.
  3. Use the Petal Park Builder punch to punch the flowers and leaves from coordinating cardstock to match the DSP. Layer the flower shapes and arrange the leaf, or leaves, to create a flower with dimension. Don’t forget to add a matte dot for the flower center!
  4. Next, die cut a label to support the size of your stamped sentiment.

Lastly, arrange the flower and label, then attach with your favorite adhesives. You may also accent them with a string.

Step it up!
Step it up a bit!

Wildflower Path

One nice thing, the Petal Park Builder punch will carry over into the new annual catalog this May. One sad thing, the Wildflower Path stamp set will only be available until May 1st. I’d like to share a few cards that uses this set. If you want a simple stamping project, consider adding this one to your collection!

Flowers in the Petal Park Bundle

Because Stampin’ Up! is so good at offering coordinating products, the Petal Park stamp set coordinates with the builder punch. You can save 10% until May 1st, if you buy the bundle. I’ve got a couple examples of how I used the flowers and punch.
