Rejoice for Easter Time

The season of Lent allows us to prepare and rejoice for Easter time. In my preparations for Easter, one of the things I like to do is create cards for my family and rejoice along with them, even though all of us can’t be together. However, the message of Easter gives us hope and a future that this world cannot give. So, rejoice in Him!

Rejoice In Him

I appreciate that Stampin’ Up! offers stamp sets that allows for us to be able to pass along loving Christian messages for the various seasons/phases of our lives. And the Rejoice In Him stamp set is a wonderful way to celebrate His ultimate sacrifice of love.

I’ve seen many different but beautiful cards made by different crafters. However, these cards used a lot of new products from the mini catalog and I wanted to use what I have. Also, I didn’t want to fussy cut. But, I loved the idea of stamping directly on designer series paper (DSP) and haven’t done this for a long time. The Hues of Happiness DSP seemed to fit the idea I had going inside my head. So, I began by cutting a 3″ x 4″ piece of DSP. Then, I stamped the image of Jesus on the non-flower side.

Easter Colors & Hues

Hues of Happiness DSP coordinates with so many different colors of paper. And believe me, I took the longest time to find the paper color combinations that I liked, depending on the colors in the DSP pieces. As a result, not every card base (5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″) could be Fresh Freesia. I ended up using Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, and Pool Party, too. But I love the variety! No two cards are alike.

Did you notice I also used Melon Mambo for some the cardstock pieces that I mounted the DSP on? Those cardstock pieces measure 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″. The DSP was glued to the cardstock with Stampin’ Seal adhesive. The sentiment piece measured 2-1/4″ x 1″ of basic white and stamped in Night of Navy ink. In fact, that is the only ink color used for these cards. After I stamped three palm branches on the card base, I embossed the card base with the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder. The stamped image of Jesus on DSP and the sentiment are both adhered to the front with Stampin’ dimensionals. And just because I felt the card needed a little extra something, I knotted a small piece of white 3/8″ glittered organdy ribbon and stuck it on with a glue dot.

I still need to finish the insides with the dove image and words, “He is risen!” and then, they will be ready to mail.
