“Beautiful things take time.” And often, change needs to happen to make improvements. It’s part of life. After making the cards from the April 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit, Change is Beautiful, I made three cards that use just the stamps and a few leftover die cut paper pieces. And as I created, I also ended up cutting three of the pretty envelopes to use as background papers for these cards.
Beautiful Ribbons of Change
Because the Last Chance sale was also happening while I made these cards, I used some of the ribbons that were retiring to make them. It’s the perfect time to use up what we have and clear our craft space for new items from the new annual catalog. Change is beautiful, even for new ribbons!
Here’s my first Change is Beautiful alternate card, that only uses the stamp images from the kit. This card mimics the “story” of the kit’s card with the die cuts of the caterpillar and butterfly. I chose to make the story of a “monarch” butterfly. While doing this, I thought I needed a background then cut up an envelope. It sets off the images perfectly!
Beautiful Die Cut Pieces
There are some beautiful die cut pieces that do not get used when you make the original card projects, so I’ve used them in these cards.
So to make the next card, I turned over the stars and moon die cut pieces and colored them with some Blends pens and Wink of Stella brush. Then, hung the moon in the “sky.” And if you’re wondering, yes, this moon actually swings. What fun this is!
I don’t know about you, but I also had leftover flower die cuts after I made the cards in the kit. So, this is how I chose to use them for my last alternate idea. I pretended the little flower stamp image was grass. Then, I added some Wink of Stella to the flower centers and butterfly, too!
I plan to use all of the cards I made to encourage others. And with that in mind, I added some stamped Bible verses to the inside of them. Maybe you have some of these verses in your stash, too: Esther 4:14, Psalm 119:105, Psalm 118;24, Psalm 27:1, and Proverbs 3:5.
