Here are a few ideas of I how used the so fantastic Safari Celebration Paper Pumpkin kit from February 2022. This kit was intended to make 9 cards with three designs, and I made 6 of those cards. But I used the pieces of the last three cards to make the projects I’m sharing here. The inspirations came from the ideas found on the instruction sheet. I hope you feel they are “fantastic,” too!
Case the Safari Celebration Suggested Alternates
Each Paper Pumpkin kit always has three suggestions of alternate project ideas. And this month, I loved each one! So here are three cards I made from one idea, times three. The animal characters for these cards lent themselves to some light humor, and as a result, I thought the Bragworthy stamps and Artfully Layered sentiments on the inside were perfect. The “happy birthday” monkey card inside says, “Look at you doing grown-up things & stuff.” It makes me laugh! Inside the elephant card says, “happiest birthday wishes.” And then, inside the gazelle card reminds us that “one minute you’re young & cool and the next you’re getting excited over new towels Happy Birthday.” (How true is that?! Heehee)! These cards are definitely going to family members!
This idea used only a few of the pieces of the kit. So keep reading and see the other two ideas, with my twist.
Safari Envelopes Cover Up
Rearranging the leaf cutouts, to make other cards, was the second idea that came from the instruction sheet. If you have visited my blog in the past, then you know that I like to use the Note Cards & Envelopes packs. A while ago, I tried a stamping idea with one of the note cards and ended up not liking what I did. But instead of throwing it away, I decided to keep the card, because I thought that at the right time, another idea would come to me, and I can cover it up! This month was the right time to fix what I didn’t like, and use the Safari Celebration envelopes. Can you tell which card had the undesirable stamping on it?
Safari Celebration Tags
The last alternate idea from the instruction sheet was making tags from the envelopes, and I made three!
These six note cards & envelopes need a box. So, I decorated and glued one tag to a glycine bag, then attached that to a mini paper pumpkin box. I love the possibility that you can tuck another note or gift card into this bag, to help personalize the box more!
Because I was asked to make a mini gift box and cards, I thought I would make a couple more gift boxes to have on hand. Let’s back track a bit, I occasionally get requests, from those I know, to use my retired Stampin’ Up! products. So while I was digging through my stash, I found these corrugated retired Stampin’ Up! gift boxes. Each box can hold 3 full sized cards and envelopes. The other two tags and card pieces helped decorate them. They were the perfect size for what I needed and to use up what I have!!!
Just a Few Pieces Left
I only had a few pieces left from the envelopes. Here are the last two cards I made to use them up. One card has a more masculine feel and the other is more feminine. These strips caused creativity! (“let’s celebrate!” inside sentiment – “your friendship is as bragworthy as a dress with pockets”)!
Well, this about wraps up my “so fantastic” Safari Celebration alternate ideas. And, literally, I made and wrapped up two mini paper pumpkin boxes to mail off to my sister-in-law. I’m VERY flattered that she wanted two mini boxes. As you can see, they fit perfectly inside one regular-sized, repurposed Paper Pumpkin box.
Extra Supplies Used
One of the things I like most when making alternate projects from my kit, is the fact that I can use up odd and ends of what I already have. And Stampin’ Up! products are known for their coordination. As a result, I find it amazing how many products “work together.” Select the item number to view and learn more about some of the extra Stampin’ Up! products I used to make the alternate products.
