A peaceful Christmas season is always nice! I really appreciate being able to enjoy remembering what the Christmas season is all about and spending time with family. For us who live in Wisconsin, the 2021 October Paper Pumpkin kit really reminds me of the beautiful undisturbed trees that I see after a snowfall. I wanted to make a few alternative card projects with this kit by cutting up the two card bases and two envelopes. By doing this, I surprised myself and ended up with 14 cards from those pieces! That wasn’t my original plan. Of course, I added a few extras to help make them. Here’s what I did.
Peaceful Snow Scenes
There are so many Stampin’ Up! products that coordinate with this kit! I hope to show you just a few of them. If you select a bullet item, you’ll be able to see and learn about each of the products featured.
For the first alternatives, I chose the peaceful snow scene card base because it was so pretty, and thought it a shame to use for just one card. So, I cut the base into two pieces. The smaller card is just a little narrower than the original card size and will fit into a #6 envelope. The ribbon covers the score mark, where the card base was meant to be folded according to the directions. And the larger card is made from a 4-1/4″ x 11″ piece of gray cardstock, and scored at 5-1/2″. Maybe you have some Sale-A-Bration DSP that you can use, too!

Peaceful Place DSP
Next, I cut the green card base into four pieces, so I had four pieces that measure 2-1/8″ x 5-1/2″. Then, I added some Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper (DSP) to two of them.
These next two cards use the last of the green card base pieces. There’s a story behind how I got six trees from one vellum tree cutout included in the kit. This piece fell onto my carpet, and tore a bit when I tried to pick it up. So, I did a little trimming and was able to make an additional tree, which resulted in having three trees for each card. It was a happy accident!
Extra coordinating product:

Peaceful Christmas Card Pieces
The rest of the cards were made with the two envelopes I cut into various sized pieces, and the remaining parts for the two card bases from the kit. The Holiday Cheer card, below, is inspired by the box design that this kit was mailed in. I believe the red ribbon for the card that has the negative piece of vellum trees, was leftover from another Paper Pumpkin kit. You might recognize the red plaid snowflake card is paper from the same Sale-A-bration paper pack as above.
This next group of cards uses the envelopes and the green plaid cardstock piece from the kit.
Finally, the last two cards I have to share with you also use the remaining pieces of envelopes. Don’t all those trees remind you of a peaceful Christmas season?

More Peaceful Christmas Cards
As you already know, most months, I share half my kit with my mom. This kit was no exception. She, too, stretched her half of the kit to make more than four cards. But wait! I still had four card bases left. So, I made these cards as the kit was intended, because I know I will be making more Christmas cards using other wonderful Stampin’ Up! items. And as a result, I ended up with not just 14 cards, but 18 in all!
