Make simple Dove of Hope Christmas cards to mail, or gift to family and friends, starting with stamps, ink, and paper, then step it up a bit. Here are some ideas:
Stamp with Dove of Hope Set
I love to make handmade Christmas cards and send to family and friends at Christmastime. I also love to make them and give as a gift. The Dove of Hope stamp set lends itself very well to do this. Because I make a lot of Christmas cards every year, I like to keep the projects simple. While I was playing with the stamp set, I wondered, “If I was new to stamping, could I make some nice cards with only a few supplies?” And the answer is “Yes!”

Make Dove of Hope Christmas Peace Cards
- Follow instructions inside the stamp set case to assemble cling label to the rubber stamps, if desired. Rubber stamps will cling to acrylic blocks without performing this step, too.
- Select one card base and lay it on a flat surface. I suggest having a piece of scrap paper underneath.
- Select a stamp image and mount it on the acrylic block.
- Open one of the ink spots, and lay the acrylic block on a flat surface with the stamp face up, dab ink spot onto the image to transfer ink.
- Pick up the acrylic block, turning the image toward the card front, and gently press the inked image evenly onto the paper. Hold the image still for a few seconds before lifting, to make sure the ink transfers to the card base.
- Repeat steps 3 – 5 with the stamp image, as desired.
- Before switching to use a different image, the stamp should be cleaned before removing from the acrylic block. This can be done with a soft rag and water, then dried.
12 Tuesdays Tips:
- Two of the cards, above, were stamped with Coastal Cabana and Real Red inks, and the other two cards with Basic Gray, Coastal Cabana and Real Red inks.
- To make the dove with the olive leaf a two-tone color, I carefully inked the leaf with the corner of the Coastal Cabana ink spot, and then the dove with basic gray, before pressing to the paper.
- Also, to make “Joy” a different color, I covered “Peace” and “Love” with small post-it notes while I inked “Joy.” Then I removed the post-it notes to ink “Peace” and “Love,” before pressing to the paper.

To give your cards as a gift, package them up in a clear cellophane bag, fold over the opening, punch a couple holes, and add a ribbon.
