To end the 2024 Paper Pumpkin year, we received a beautiful kit called “Notes From the Heart.” It was an easy kit to assemble as instructed, and just as easy of a kit to alter and add your own twists. Continue reading to see how I altered my cards.
Easy Assemble Notes From the Heart
My mom and I felt the vellum leaves were too hidden by the pretty flora cutouts. I actually made the berry floral card as the kit instructions directed, but we both deviated. We used the dots embossing folder to dry emboss the card base fronts and omitted the vellum pieces. This was an easy alternative. Try it with an embossing folder of your choice.

Elements of Text Cards
The Notes From the Heart kit proved to be perfect for adding an alternate touch to my card backgrounds, using the Blackberry Bliss ink. Again, I omitted the vellum leaves, then stamped the accents. I recently obtained the Elements of Text stamp set and love the results! You can find the Elements of Text stamp set as an online exclusive item. Look for the Online Exclusive category when you’re at the Stampin’ Up! website.

Notes From the Heart Dies
I had to use the Merry Tags & More dies that coordinate with the Notes From the Heart kit. I tried using the tag die on one of the envelopes to make five tags. Below is a picture of the envelope after cutting it. It pleased me that it worked!

I also cut some ferns from the white paper and vellum sheets leftover after punching out the floral cutouts in the kit. Then I found some Blackberry Bliss cardstock to make a bookmark and small notecard. I created a small notecard because there was a small piece in my stash and I love to use up scraps. I also rummaged through my stash to find a retired scalloped die cut to mimic the fancy edge of the white card bases in the kit.

The next cards are made from regular Blackberry Bliss card bases measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″ then folded in half. The birthday card was embellished with the Faux Glass adhesive dots, instead of the ones included in kit. I wanted to be able to give this card to a man or woman.

Step It Up
My last card to share used up the last vellum leaves and tag from the kit and the Fern 3D embossing folder. I had a leftover sentiment already made in the Wild Ferns stamp case and only needed to make another fern. Because I didn’t want to create this card too gender specific, and left off the adhesive embellishments.

If you’re interested to add string or ribbon to your tags, like I did, this is what I used: Linen Thread, Baker’s Twine combo pack, and the Gold Weave Ribbon.
