When the new 2024-2026 In Colors became available, I pulled out a stamp set I’ve had for a while. To find it was like finding an old friend. I immediately created some Happy Birthday, Queen Bee cards, in hopes of passing them along to my in-laws or friends. And what better way to use my Queen Bee stamp set!
Monochromatic Queen Bees
The Queen Bee stamp set was actually introduced a couple of years ago, and we had the option to purchase coordinating dies at that time. Once the stamp set became available as an online exclusive, the dies did not follow (retired). And I decided to use my dies, anyway, instead of fussy cutting images.
Here are some 2024-2026 In Colors monochromatic cards using the Queen Bee stamp set.
Now, I have another confession to make. Since I have been using Stampin’ Up! products for a number of years, I see many In Colors come and go. As a result, I also realize that some colors are extremely close to current, past or retired colors. And I still own retired ink pads for a number of reasons, but I especially love it when I can use them again with new products. So, when I first saw this year’s new In Colors, I couldn’t wait to see if my Bermuda Bay, Just Jade, and Peekaboo Peach ink pads would be suitable to coordinate with Summer Splash, Shy Shamrock, and Peach Pie. And I say YES!
I was most eager to try out all the In Colors and add Petunia Pop and Pretty In Pink inks to my collection, though!
My Favorite In Color Combination
With that out in the open, you won’t be shocked that I only purchased three of the 2023-2025 In Color ink pads: Boho Blue, Wild Wheat, and Pebbled Path. I currently own only five of the ten In Colors offered by Stampin’ Up! right now. And I will be content for this year.
However, at my stamp table, I keep the In Colors separate from my other ink pads. And one day, to my surprise, I looked at my ink pads together and decided they were beautiful! So I tried it out when I was creating an alternate card with my Delicate Wings Paper Pumpkin kit.
Happy Birthday Queen Bee Card
In fact, this has become Lori’s favorite In Color combination. We will be making this card, Happy Birthday Queen Bee, at a Tuesday stamp club in the near future.
The card base is our new neutral color, Basic Beige, and the DSP comes from the Country Woods designer series paper pack. The stamped images are framed by Petunia Pop cardstock. All Lori’s favorite In Colors are incorporated in the focal image, along with Basic Beige ink as a background.
In order to embellish this card, I wrapped a length of white baker’s twine around the image, to draw your eye to sentiment. As an alternative, I think it would look just as nice to tie a bow and add it toward the bottom of the flower spray.
