One of the 2024 Sale-a-bration products that can be earned with a $50 purchase is Sunny Days 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. I did not purchase the stamp/die set bundle that coordinates with this paper. So, I’m sharing how to have “fun in the sun” anyway.
Something I always notice when I look any DSP for the first time, is that it looks better in your hand than in a catalog or online picture. And I admit the Sunny Days DSP was not my first choice of a free product. But I kept eyeing it, so I had to think of how I would use it with what stamp sets and dies I already have. Once I realized I have several stamps, dies, and punches that will work, I couldn’t wait for it to arrive.
Rain or Sunshine Fun
You’ll find a range of design images on the papers to work with. Weather, fruit, flower and butterfly images allow us to use a wide variety of stamp sets, dies, and embossing folders. Before I even began to make some greetings with the DSP, I cut a piece of each design page measuring 4″ x 6.” Then, I decided how I wanted to mix and match the designs to create interest.
The first photo features the weather images and one of the fruit images. Let’s start with the middle card, because it was very simple to assemble. The clouds and rain are on one sheet, and all I added was a strip from another sheet. I stamped the sentiment directly to DSP strip using the Delicate Forest stamp set.
The sun and rainbow card uses 2′ x 4″ strips from two different DSP pieces and a leftover strip from the clouds and rain card. The colored rainbow and sentiment come from the stamp set, Just My Type.
The strawberry card is a bit more fussy. I stamped a strawberry and one of the sentiments from the Simply Sparkling bundle. “Sweet” is stamped from the Alphabest set, and Best Label punch. And where did those little hearts come from? They came from the Adhesive-Backed Hearts & Flowers embellishments.
Simply Fun
Here’s another example to utilize the Simply Sparkling bundle with the cherries DSP design. I found Shaded Spruce colored flowers somewhat odd, but I felt the Stamped with Love set turned out to be perfect with them! I added a gray twine bow using the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack to give the right extra touch.
Fun Flowers in the Sun
Lastly, these two cards demonstrate the last three designs found in the Sunny Days DSP. The focus is flowers and butterflies. Once again, the red flower card features the Just My Type stamp set and the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack. And if you’re wondering where the “Thinking of You” sentiment is from , it comes from the Hope You Know set. The yellow hearts are from the Adhesive-Backed Hearts & Flowers embellishments, again. And most of you may recognize the butterfly is part of the Paper Butterfly Accents.
To conclude, I’m really enjoying this DSP. I hope you are inspired to have some fun in the sun with the Sunny Days DSP. Because I have more Stampin’ Up! products in my stash to coordinate with this paper. Check out what’s your stash, too!
