I thought I’d better finish this post, as long as this marvelous paper is still available! I just wanted to show how versatile Winter Meadow DSP (designer series paper) is. This can be found on Stampin’ Up!’s (online only) exclusive list. I’m so happy this is a carryover item from the September – December 2023 Mini Catalog.
Masculine Birthday Cards
First off, it’s always nice to have some birthday cards ready for the guys in your life. And there’s a particular sheet in the Winter Meadow DSP pack that you, basically, just cut the sheet into six pieces and add your greeting to the card base. I used three of the Charming Sentiments to stamp directly onto the front of the DSP. Presto! Easy birthday cards, done!
Versatile Winter Birthday Wishes, Etc.
The next group of cards are mostly birthday wishes, along with a Christmas card. In all the photos, the card on the right, or the bottom, show you both sides of each DSP sheet. I invite you to keep reading and I’ll explain the basic assembly to create “the card on the right” in each of these next photos. Once you have the idea for this, you can apply this technique to other DSP you might have.
The Winter Meadow DSP coordinates with the Beary Cute bundle (retired), and also the More Wishes and Biggest Wish stamp sets. Then help someone celebrate a birthday.
The Yeti (retired) decorates this next birthday greeting. And of course, the Christmas card is featuring more trees from the Beary Cute bundle. I’m sure you have some trees in your stash, too. I stamped and fussy cut the trees from the DSP.
More All Occasion Winter Meadow Cards
Check out the dies and punches you own to embellish the fronts of your own cards. The next card groups feature dies from Natural Prints and Nested Essentials die sets, and the Bough punch. Sentiments come from Layering Leaves and Night Divine (retired) stamp sets. Adhesive-Backed Snowflake Assortment and Lost Lagoon ribbon also help add interest to the bottom card.
Again, the Natural Prints dies were used to create the focal point for the Hello card. That greeting comes from the Nature’s Prints stamp set, but was punched with the 1-3/4″ Circle punch. Also, the green ribbon is part of the Real Red & Garden Green ribbon combo pack. In addition, the Hello card front is embossed using the Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder.
Adhesive-Backed Sequins Trio embellishments and retired ribbon decorate the bottom card. I used the 2-3/8″ Circle punch and a sentiment from the Courage & Faith stamp set for the greeting.
Finally, this last group of cards show off the last sheet of DSP inside the Winter Meadow DSP pack. You see some of the same dies, stamps, ribbon and sequins used in the previous cards. However, with one exception, white string from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack makes a bow for the Christmas wreath.
Versatile Winter Meadow DSP & Other Supplies
As stated before, here are TwelveTuesdays tips for creating a simple card with the Winter Meadow DSP. This technique works best with double-sided DSP. Gather together some basic supplies. Coordinating colors of cardstock and inks you might consider using- Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, Misty Moonlight, Blueberry Bushel, Moody Mauve, and Smokey Slate. Don’t forget your favorite stamps. adhesive, ribbons, and other embellishments to add interest. You can find any Stampin’ Up! supplies on my Supplies Page.
- Use a Paper Trimmer to cut and score your papers.
- Also, I like to have a bone folder to help me crease the paper along the score lines.
- One piece of cardstock, 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ – This piece is for the inside sentiment and your message. I use Basic White cardstock for this purpose.
- One piece of DSP (designer series paper) that measures 6″ x 5-1/2.” You need to score this, on the long side (6″), at 1/2″ and 4-3/4.”
Let’s Assemble the “Card on the Right”
- Fold the DSP along the score lines. Adhere the 1/2″ section of paper to the white card base. This section wraps around the back of the white card base and is visible when turned over.
- Then fold the remaining 1-1/4″ section of DSP back onto itself. This forms a border, if you will, on the right side of the card where it opens. You may choose to adhere this section down with adhesive, or not. If not, the card becomes a “Z” fold card.
- Finally, embellish the card as you wish.
I love the versatility of the Winter Meadow DSP. As a result, it does all the work of making a beautiful greeting, whatever the occasion may be!
