If you’d like to create some polar bear Christmas cards, you might consider using the Beary Cute bundle. I found this bundle works well with Designer Series Paper (DSP) called, A Walk In The Park.
Design with DSP
When I first began playing with the Beary Cute bundle, I was also intrigued with the DSP, A Walk In The Park. Not only do some of the images on the paper coordinate with the bear punch, but the designs allow for making quick and easy cards. Here are some cards to use for any occasion. You could send these to a special guy in your life. I was thinking my grandsons might receive one, possibly.
I found my Forever Forest dies to create the forest and sky for this polar bear’s walk. And the sentiment comes from the Hope You Know stamp set.
Make A Beary Cute Card
We created a different all-occasion card when our October stamp club met. I intended to make the card on the left first, but an ink smudge caused me to cut the card base and mount the snowflakes to another card base to create the card on the right.
So, the card you see on the left is the one we actually made.
- Cut the white card base first, 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, then fold in half.
- With a Blending brush, the snowflake mask from the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks, and Balmy Blue ink, create snow flakes on the card front.
- Adhere a 3″ x 3″ square of A Walk In The Park DSP centering it to the upper portion on the front. Use your favorite glue. It can either be Multipurpose Liquid glue or Stampin’ Seal.
- With Pretty Peacock ink, stamp “warm wishes” in the lower right corner of the card front.
- Stamp the polar bear on a scrap of white cardstock using Smoky Slate ink, then add a scarf with Pretty Peacock ink.
- Use the coordinating punch to punch around the bear.
- Adhere the bear as shown with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Lastly, stick a couple of Adhesive-Backed Glitter Sequins of your choice for accent.
- We choose not to stamp anything inside, because this could become a Christmas card, or a birthday card, or whatever greeting is needed at the time.
Polar Bear Christmas Cards
The sentiments in the Beary Cute bundle are meant mostly as Christmas greetings. So, I made a few cards for Christmas. I admit that I struggled a little with the red and green striped pattern. As a result, I was determined to work with all the patterns found in the A Walk In The Forest DSP.
The last group of cards I’m sharing range from simple to more fussy designs. The top white card uses only a strip of tree paper with a sentiment. You can add some score lines on the front for more interest, if you’d like. I fussy cut the large trees from another sheet of DSP to add to the “Warm Wishes” card. And finally, I used the red and green striped pattern in a way that pleased me.
I found myself reaching for the Beary Cute bundle quite a few times this season. But I still have to make some black bears, yet. So, until I do, Merry Christmas and warm wishes to everyone!
