The October 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit was all about coming Home for the Holidays. This kit was full of snowy nighttime winter scenes that sparkle with glitter glue! You heard correctly, we got a bottle of glitter glue with this month’s kit. And that glue added just the right amount of sparkle to our projects.
Home for the Holidays Stamp Set
The stamp set included in this kit was really fun to work with! I used a lot of the stamps to create a little snow scene inside the cards.
Holidays Alternate Ideas
After making the first two cards, a few alternative ideas came to mind to try. So, here they are.
First, I made an easel card. The only thing different is that I made a score line 1-1/4″ from the bottom edge of the card front. If you try this, just be sure to attach the cutouts after doing this. But no extra supplies were needed to make this card.
And of course, there’s a snowy scene inside this card, too!
Another Alternative Idea
The second alternate project uses one each of the three cutouts from the kit. I started by cutting a piece of thick basic white cardstock to measure 3″ x 11″ and scored at 1-1/2″, then folded in half. As a result, I ended up with a long V-shaped piece of cardstock. This project used dimensionals and glue dots to help strategically stagger all three cutouts along the strip of cardstock. But there were enough included in the kit. The Merry Christmas label and some trees help to conceal a seam between the cutouts in the front. Now that it’s completed, I plan to display my scene in the bay window, and maybe sprinkle some decorative snow around the base.
Because I used all three cutouts for the pop-up scene, I had two card bases without them. But that gave me an opportunity to do something different. I couldn’t resist getting out my Yeti, again, and using my Forever Forest bundle.
The Yeti stamp set and dies are still available on the Clearance Rack, and for a good deal!
I hope you can see the star cutouts made in the card front sky, from the Forever Forest dies. And of course, the trees are from there, too. The banner label is from the kit, I just cut it down to fit the in space I needed it to go.
