Hello, August! The summer is flying by. With so many events happening this summer, and a major house remodel as well, it caused my paper crafting to take a bit of a pause. But, I finally feel a rhythm coming back that’s doable. So, allow me to share our August Tuesday stamp club creations with you, today.
We made the four cards shown here.
Taco (Tuesday) Fiesta Birthday Card
Let’s start with Jenny’s Taco Fiesta card. Jenny, our host, showed us a way to use our Brights Designer Series Paper (DSP) that may be familiar for many of you. It’s called the Stack, Cut, and Shuffle technique. Pick 4 same-sized DSP pieces, stack them, and cut each piece into 4 different sizes, like puzzle pieces. Then shuffle or mix the pieces back onto the cards so that four different colors appear on card front. We colored the chips and guacamole bowl with Blends markers, and attached a scalloped vellum die cut circle behind it. She said we needed rhinestones after adding the sentiment, so we added them too. My creation . . .
Holy guacamole, Jenny! What a cute card!
Artistically Inked Fun-Fold
The second card used a favorite stamp set, Artistically Inked, created by Mary. This card features a fun-fold. I do not know if there is an official name for it, but reminds me of a gate fold, except the “gates” are not the same size because the card base is two pieces, glued together. It’s a very pretty birthday card. I told Mary I would add ribbon to mine, after I got home, and this is how it looks.
To create this card, we randomly stamped the images on the white card stock. Also, Mary showed us how she made her own DSP on full sheets of white 8-1/2″x 11″ card stock, and then plans to cut the sheets and create other cards from the pieces.
My Tuesday Stamp Club Creations – Stamps, Ink, and Paper (SIP Technique)
I designed the last two cards the group made using the reversible stamp sets found in the annual catalog: Sea Turtle and Enchanted Butterfly. Because I just got home from a week of volunteering at a kids camp, then worked a six-day stretch at my job, it meant I lacked time for the two weeks before our meeting. Not to mention, I was tired. So, here I am the Sunday before we were supposed to meet, creating, cutting papers, and making sure I had it all packed for Tuesday. Just keep it simple, Lori!
SIP Card Creation
My heart was set to recreate the fun-fold from July’s Paper Pumpkin kit, using the Sea Turtle stamps and some complimentary stamps from available kits. However, as I began put my ideas into a card design, I realized I would have to think of a simpler way to accomplish it. Maybe I’ll hold onto this fun-fold idea for another time. Take a look at the end result below.
We stamped this card with the Sea Turtle and Oceanfront sets, also stamps from the Fun In The Sun (July Paper Pumpkin kit) and You Are My Anchor (Kits Collection) sets. The group wasn’t even too upset with me for using seven different colors on this card. It really was a lot of fun to do!
Lastly, I paired the Enchanted Butterfly set with the sentiments from the Hope You Know stamp set and made a sympathy card. With the help of the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder and Double Oval punch, we crafted a simple but elegant card.
Inside the card, we stamped the complimentary phrase from the same set and one flourish image to complete it.
Please enjoy more SIP cards using the Enchanted Butterfly set.
I used Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels to embellish some of these cards. I couldn’t help myself!

Everyone of our group looks forward to meeting the third Tuesday of each month. And this month’s Tuesday Stamp Club was no exception! I think I need to add the Taco Fiesta set to my wishlist. I also need to take out my Artistically Inked “bundle” so I can create more with it. Thank you, Jenny and Mary, for sharing your beautiful cards with us!!
Good lookin group of cards!
I know, right? We sure had fun making them!
