The Hohoho Paper Pumpkin kit came with snowflakes, stars, Santa’s sleigh, a cute Santa, and some Christmas sentiments to compliment it all. I’ve been seeing a lot of fun alternative ideas for using this kit. One of them being a shaker card, which I will also be making. But I am sharing two alternate projects that I was inspired to create using a Santa Claus and JOY cutouts.
JOY Card
I really enjoy CASEing the July to December Mini Catalog this year. And if you look on page 72, you may spy the card I copied this idea from. One big difference, though, is that I didn’t stamp anything! As a result, this card came together in no time. What joy!
The card base, white paper for the tag, a cutup blue envelope and the JOY cutouts all came from the kit. Some of the extra supplies needed are the Snowflake Specialty Vellum, Adhesive Backed Seasonal Sequins, Celebrations Tag dies, Glittered Organdy Ribbon, and string. Now I must admit, you will also need a die cutting machine to cut the tag and snowflakes. And don’t forget to dig out some leftover adhesive dots from past kits and mini dimensionals to hold it all together. This card makes me smile!
Santa Claus Sack
You’d better be good, because Santa Claus is coming to town! We had an option to purchase additional bags, called North Pole Sacks, that coordinate with this kit and the upcoming November kit. These bags can hold a small card (like an envelope) or a yummy treat (they’re safe for food). I used some more extra pieces from the kit because I didn’t make all nine cards, then added some of the same extra elements as my JOY card.
If you take a peek at page 35 of the mini catalog, there’s an idea for a treat bag. I copied this layout then added my own twist. As a result, this is what I created. The blue tag was cut from the blue envelope that I die cut the snowflakes from. I also cut apart a striped envelope to accent the sentiment. I stamped a little for this project, but very simply. Maybe you’d like to leave a cookie for Santa on Christmas Eve in this cute bag!
