Hello! This month, I’ve made three cards that only use the stamps from the March 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit, Beyond the Horizons. The stamps with this kit are amazing! I was fascinated by the chevron design, and determined to see how I might use it. I also had a scrap of Beauty of the Earth DSP laying around and thought I’d try my hand at mimicking one of the patterns with the dots and leaf stamps that came in this kit. Let’s go exploring beyond the horizons, shall we?
Chevron Hellos
I was immediately thinking that the chevron image in this stamp set has to fit together in a way that makes a background. So, I played around a bit and came up with this idea. You can only stamp two rows because of the orientation of the chevrons, but it works!
Make the repeating chevron most appealing by stamping the “flatter” end of the design back to back. Stamping the three dot image randomly over the chevron pattern gives even more interest. The card with sequins is a single layer stamping technique – simple stamping. The chevron pattern on the flower card is propped up with dimensionals, and I did use some of the ribbon from the kit, to dress it up more – casual level crafting. The three ink colors used here are the same for both cards: Old Olive, Pale Papaya, and Misty Moonlight. I loved how it turned out!
Beyond the Horizons, Leaves
One day, I saw a scrap piece of Beauty of the Earth DSP laying on the desk. Then the idea came to me that I can duplicate this pattern with the leaves and dots stamps in the Beyond the Horizons kit! Because this DSP is retiring, you can continue to make this background, if you have this Paper Pumpkin kit.
This background came together with three ink colors: Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, and Misty Moonlight. The white panel is a piece from the kit and the ribbon can be found in the January to June 2022 mini catalog.
Some of the items used to make these cards are soon retiring, so my goal has been to use it up. And because the new annual catalog is launching soon, that means the new In Colors will too.
