What’s Cooking with Awesome Otters?

Many stampers have been having fun with the Awesome Otters stamp set, and boy, do those otters like to swim! But, I didn’t want to make a card with otters swimming. Recently, I got the What’s Cooking bundle and haven’t had a chance to play with it yet. So, I planned a card to use both stamp sets and some Simply Marbleous DSP. It turned out well enough that I brought the idea to our Tuesday stamp club. As a result, we all enjoyed the What’s Cooking? bundle with some free Sale-A-Bration rewards this past week. Let’s see what’s cooking with Awesome Otters.

What’s Cooking? Recipe Cards

From the outside, you might think, “What kind of card is this?” But take a look inside and see a place to share a favorite recipe or record a heartfelt greeting. As shown above, I made a card using all six colors in the Simply Marbleous DSP. I figured I can use some of them when I make Gifts in a Jar.

Share a recipe inside!

For those who’ve been stamping with Stampin’ Up! for a long time, you may recognize this retired recipe stamp set. It’s got a date from 1995 on the woodblock labels! This is before the time I began stamping, and I’ve been doing this for more than 20 years. 🙂

I was a little nervous if the stamp group would like the card, but it turns out they loved it. What a relief! Would you mind cooking with awesome otters?

No Otters, No Cooking

Here’s another idea to use the Simply Marbleous DSP that we demonstrators were given by Stampin’ Up! I, of course, did not have the same stamp set and had to change things up a bit. I also go a chance to use my new Bough punch. This layout uses both sides of the same DSP, one side is a swirl design and the other side is marbled. I really like this idea and if I make the purple card again, I might make the bird Balmy Blue instead of So Saffron.
