Thank You Expressions In Color

Every month, when my Paper Pumpkin Kit arrives, I always make one set of projects from the kit as intended. Next, I may decide to share some of the kit with my mom, if she’s interested, and I will also make alternative projects with the rest. This month I opened the fancy Expressions In Color box and thought, “I’ll use all the pretty vellum pieces!” Then, I saw one of the card bases had a bit of manufacturing damage. I know this can happen, and so my next goal became, “This card base will need an alternative idea.” The kit makes cards for different occasions, but I chose to make a lot of thank you cards. Thank you, Expressions In Color!

A Bumblebee Thank You Card Alternative

Please note, no bumblebees were harmed while making this card. Wink! As I mentioned before, one of the card bases was damaged with smudges and a tear, and the vellum didn’t hide that. So, it was a given that this would be made into an alternative card. The kit color scheme is from all the current In Colors and came with two ink spots: Bumblebee and Evening Evergreen. Admittedly, I would not have come up with this combination of colors on my own, but it grew on me, yet I had to think about how to use this Bumblebee card base.

Tear & Smudges

I needed to cover both areas of damage, and chose to cover both spots up with more pieces of paper. A couple strips of retired DSP came to the rescue to cover the tear on both sides, so no one will know the difference. Then, I stamped a background and sentiment on a white piece of cardstock and layered that over the front to cover the smudges. One thank you card completed, but this left me with more vellum and leaves to make more cards.

Thanks, Merci, and Danke Expressions In Color

I used only one of the vellum words, so far, and still had eight left: Thanks, Merci, and Danke. Most of us know the meanings of these words, no matter which language, and I used them. I decided to mix, match, and cut parts as I was inspired. I ended up making extra projects with each of the colors used in the kit and used all the vellum. Goal accomplished! I hope you like them!

Pretty gift bags!

A Few More Alternate Expressions

A few other kit pieces were still left over. Use them up, Lori!

Check off “make thank you cards” from my to-do list. Thank you, again, Expressions In Color! It was fun!
