An Inspiring Suite Sampler

An inspiring Suite Sampler is a host reward stamp set in the January to June 2021 Mini Catalog that has a variety of images. These images compliment other stamp sets and suites in the catalog, but they can certainly be used alone, too! Here are some cards I made using each of the images in the set.

The First Two Samples

The very first image from the Suite Sampler that I used was the dragonfly. It is easy to fussy cut around and adhere to a card from the Dandy Garden Memories & More Cards & Envelopes pack.

The second card I made by stamping the leaf cluster image two times. I think the leaves are a perfect match to the leaves and flowers from the True Love Designer Series Paper (DSP). Again, I fussy cut a couple of flower clusters from the DSP, and gave them some color with a blending brush. Once colored, I glued the flowers on top of the stamped leaves to make a nice spray, then embellished.

The Impossible Snail Sample

The green snail card is called an Impossible Card. A lot of demonstrators have some nice You Tube videos that show how to make them. We made some cards at one of our recent stamp club Zoom meetings. Honestly, this card should be featured in a bloopers post! I wanted to use the tiny flower bunch image, from the Suite Sampler set, by the mushrooms, but when I stamped it the rest of the card seemed to lack something. So, I thought I could just add more flowers all over the one inch strip on either side of the snail. Yuck! That was too much! As a result, I did what any paper crafter would do, set it aside until a “plan B” comes to mind. I should have just left it like the Bermuda Bay snail card I made.

Two CASE’s of the Suite Sampler

Both cards with the red flowers and the seashells are CASE’d (Copy and Share Everything). I saw another crafter who colored the tulips red and green, so I used my Stampin’ Write markers to get the same look. The background DSP is a different pattern from the True Love DSP pack. For the seashell card, I copied the idea from someone else who used the Sand & Sea DSP for the background. She, too, used the seashell image from the “inspiring” Suite Sampler, but she also used the leaves on her card. I chose to add more seashells to mine. I even used the bubbles image on tag. It turned out pretty cute!

An Inspired Snail Card

In between making the red tulip card and the seashell card, an idea came to me about how to cover up all those flowers I stamped on that one inch strip. I simply just cover them up! And, why not make this into an interactive card while I’m fixing it? I thought it would be so cool to make the snail slide/move toward those mushrooms he’s eyeing. So, I removed the snail, I cut another one inch strip and punched a rectangle stamp from the same paper.

See the “sandwiched” strip here.

To make the snail move, I centered and glued the “Pull” strip behind my snail. Then I needed to line up the green strip on top of the green rectangle stamp. I adhered mini Stampin’ dimensionals on the green stamp and at the same time allowing room enough for the strip to move. As a result, I made a sandwich when I stuck the snail image to the dimensionals. You would think I would stamp before I glued the strip over the first strip, but I didn’t. I glued the strip down to the card at each end. Then, I decided there was still something missing. This time, I only stamped a few flower bunches. Less is best!

My Last Inspired Sample

Last, but not least, is my snowball card. That’s right! I said, “Snowball card.” I spent my elementary childhood days growing up on a farm. And all around our farmhouse, grew these big bushes my mother called “snowball bushes.” I loved the time of year when they bloomed. Of course I would, I love summer! This image from the Suite Sampler brought back those good memories, so I made a card for myself with this lovely flower.

I love all the images in this inspiring Suite Sampler! You can earn this set by hosting a workshop before June 30,2021. And, if you do it before June 14th, and party sales are $250 or more, you can earn an extra $25 in rewards over what you typically earn!
