Hey Chick, Let’s Celebrate!

A couple of years ago, Stampin’ Up! offered a free Sale-A-Bration stamp set called, “Hey, Chick!” The chickens are so fun! In fact, this past Fall, I made a coworker various chicken cards for her birthday that included these chickens. And you can only imagine my delight, when I found out that from February to June 2021, there will be coordinating dies for this set. There is also another bundle of chickens and dies available to expand your collection of chicken creations called, “Hey, Birthday Chick!” For a limited time, we have the opportunity to add these two bundles to our stash of paper crafting “gotta have’s.” So in the meantime, “Hey Chick, Let’s Celebrate!” while we can!

Hey Chick, It’s Your Birthday!

In February, my husband asked me to make a birthday card. He spied the “Hey, Birthday Chick! bundle on the table, because it had just arrived in the mail, and he thought it would create a good card for one of his co-workers. So, I made the card and he took it to work. Some of the leftover cardstock was still setting on my craft table yet, and I thought I might as well use it to recreate a second card just like it. And this is what I’m sharing with you today.

Hey chick, Happy Birthday!

The card base is actually a retired SU orange color, because I am currently out of Pumpkin Pie cardstock. I guess I need to order more! A piece of Soft Seafoam cardstock is dry embossed and acts as my barnyard. The die cut pieces are in colors of Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Poppy Parade, Basic Black, So Saffron, and white. I stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored the images with blends pens.

Inside birthday greeting

It would be a lot of fun to celebrate a birthday with a ride in a hot air balloon, eat cupcakes, and dance the day away, especially if you’re still feeling like a spring chicken!
