Ridiculously Awesome and Simple

Last spring, my husband saw some of the “new” annual catalog products while I was looking, and commented that he liked the sentiment, “Let your FAITH be bigger than your Fear.” I liked it too! So over the holidays, when I was taking a small break from blogging, I was stamping. I’ve had the Ridiculously Awesome stamp set a while and decided it was time to play with it. I also wanted to use my Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper (DSP) and searched for “one sheet wonder” ideas using 6″ x 6″ paper. There are many different ways to cut a sheet of DSP, and I picked one of the ideas. So keep reading to see the ridiculously awesome and simple cards I created!

Ridiculously Simple Paper Cuts

This idea was cutting the paper into trapezoid pieces, and I tried two different measurements to do this. The first time, I measured 1-1/2″ from each of the four corners of the paper, and marked with a pencil, as I rotated the paper clockwise. Then made two straight-line cuts from opposite pencil marks, on one side of the paper, to the other. The two cuts made an “X” and the result left me with four trapezoid pieces from one sheet. The second time, I measured 2-1/4″ from each of the four corners of the DSP. Depending on the measurement you choose, the trapezoid shapes will be different.

These cards were made by using one or two trapezoid pieces of DSP, then glued to a coordinating color cardstock base. The words and images were stamped with Night of Navy ink.

Step It Up A Little

The next cards were made the same way as the simple stamping cards, but with a bit more bling. Add sequins or adhesive dots!

Fussy cut, or die cut some shapes to coordinate with the Ridiculously Awesome stamp set. His Love stamp set and the Tasteful Labels dies work together beautifully to add meaning and variety.

Here’s another idea! What about adding string or ribbons to the cards? It looks nice, too!

Stitched So Sweetly and Stitched Rectangle dies also coordinate well with the Ridiculously Awesome sayings. The words are perfect for giving encouragement to someone who needs it. Mix and match the paper pieces of the Playing with Patterns to come up with your own cards and make your own ridiculously awesome and simple cards!
