Beary Comforting Paper Pumpkin Kit

As I was enjoying my December 2020 Beary Comforting Paper Pumpkin kit, I made a few alternative cards to share with you. This kit inspired me to use some punches that I haven’t used for a while. These punches are still available through the annual Stampin’ Up! catalog, if you don’t have them already. Since, punch art was my original intent, I only wanted to cut one envelope apart and get at some more striped paper for making more cards. As a result, these cards came about from using that one envelope!

Cut One Beary Comforting Envelope

This first alternative, I admit, is not a punch art card. The rest of the cards are. But I was inspired to make this card in a different way! As I was cutting the envelope to get to the striped paper inside, I held the back of the envelope piece in my hand and it reminded me of a bed with head and foot boards. So I cut away to construct the bed, but didn’t throw the leftover piece. I stamped a bear to lie in the bed and cut a piece from the striped flap of the envelope to make his blanket. The pillow was cut from the Tasteful Labels dies. (You can also use a label from the July 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit, if you have one left). Sequins were also leftovers from a past Paper Pumpkin kit. Sleep and get well, little bear!

The next two cards have similar layouts. Here’s where the leftover piece from the back envelope was used, cut in two. I love how the bear paws can hold my punch art!

Believe it or not, this next card came together last, but it was closest to what my original idea started out as and was the reason I cut the envelope in the first place. I really wanted to use my daisy punch! This card also used the last piece of the envelope, but it was the perfect size. It’s a bonus when it works and you didn’t even plan it. Wink! The daisy center is from Playing with Patterns Resin Dots.
